My story begins in a very small town in Canada, so small that most people from Canada have probably never heard of it. It's very serene, orchards of trees like maple, spruce, and burch infest the land. In the fall it's absolutely beautiful, no place left untouched by the fall colours.
There are plenty of beaches around as well, in fact fishing is a kind of trend around here.
Contrary to what some people may think, we don't live in igloos and say ''eh'' a lot. Although it still is very cold in the winter and fall, around Halloween everybody already has thick wool sweaters on. In the winter its usually about -27°C, it snows often, and ALOT. The summers are very hot, around 30°C, but they come really late, this year for example it was still chilly until mid July. It's also common to have deer, moose, or bunnies on your lawn pretty well year round.
The cultural diversity of my area is amazing. We love music, Celtic fiddle and piano are common. And boy can people Sing. Farms used to consume the land, they aren't as plentiful now but still a good share. We are also very passionate about hockey, you literally can't go though life without having played a game at least once. We don't have to travel far for a good view, but when we do all long trips start with a stop at Timmie's for a coffee and some Timbits.
We're a very close knit community. Everybody knows everybody, and if you need something they're there to help. There's no big stores, just some small little corner stores where you can rent a movie or get some pop. If you want clothes or groceries it's about a 30-60 minute drive.
We have a bit of our own accent compared to the rest of Canada and even our Provence. Some common sayings are "How she goin tday" or "youz" for the plural of "you", and we like to drop the g on most things for example "doin'" and "sayin". I must admit we do say eh, but much more minimal than expected.
It's very quiet where I live, but we have loud wonderful personalities. Myself I love the quiet, it gives me time to think. Which, I do a lot of. Coming from a big family of 18 aunts and uncles the quiet is good. I'm very into things like drawing, piano, and really mysterious things that puzzle me like memory, the supernatural, and the effects things like drugs and illnesses have on us. I really like getting a grasp on things nobody understands. Oh and I love Netflix (+YouTube) and dogs, and I'm obsessed with Irish and British accents lol.
All in all I'm lucky to live where I do. There's amazing people here, all exceptionally caring and funny. It really makes you feel safe. And there's views that you can't get anywhere else right outside your door. There's really nothing that can compare to the comfort of home, sweet home.
